For anyone thinking of doing it, just do it! It's just 12 weeks, and they do fly by. It's 12 weeks that will change your life. I cannot thank Mike enough and although it was through my own hard work and taking action and owning his programme I could not have done it without his help. I have lost 18 pounds, have a new positive outlook look on life as well as eating healthier but not giving up anything including beer. More importantly I have the best blood pressure that I have had for years and have been able to come off one of my medications which I was told would not happen. This was the best decision I have made in such a long time. Michael Newman was brilliant from the word go. Once we had a meeting to go through what I needed, Michael set me up on a 12 week programme along side weekly calls with him and others going through the programme. Everyone was great and supportive as we were all in similar positions and wanted to make positive changes to our lives. Everyone had their own difficulties, but also had similar difficulties to each other, which Michael helped us through by supporting us anytime of day as well as support from the other members. The 12 weeks had challenging aspects, but my life has changed for the better.
At the start of this year I was the heaviest I've ever been in my life, stressed at home, kids driving me crazy and generally just an unhappy bastard. I knew I needed to do something about it. After chatting to Michael Thorpe who has gone through a similar transformation, I reached out to Michael Newman and we agreed to work with each other. 12 weeks later, I'm 2 stone lighter (the lightest I've been in 10 years) and 2 trousers sizes down, all this without gyms or golf being available to me. I've gone from cycling 4 miles and being chuffed with myself to cycling 35miles and wanting more.
Over the last 12 weeks I have learnt so much more, not only about fitness and health but mental health and your own personal wellbeing. I have lost just over 15lbs in the 12 weeks but have also lost some serious amount of inches. I would like to say thank you to Michael Newman for the help, guidance and support you have given me and I really look forward to the next challenge and hitting some bigger goals.
The greatest thing about Michael's approach in my opinion is that we just set very small achievable weekly goals he holds you accountable for, or more so, you hold yourself accountable for and you get it done. Every week the first thing he asks you are “what were your wins for the week?” and it feels great to look back and recall what you did well that week and how it made you feel getting these little wins in each week. They soon add up to great results.
